Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (BLR) is the third-busiest airport in India by passenger traffic, air traffic movements and domestic and total cargo handled, behind the airports in Delhi and Mumbai. It is the busiest airport in South India and is one of the fastest-growing airports in the world.

The airport is located about 30 kilometers (19 mi) north of Bangalore, near the suburb of Devanahalli. It is owned and operated by Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL), a public–private consortium. The airport opened in May 2008 as an alternative to increased congestion at HAL Airport, the original primary commercial airport serving the city. It is named after Kempe Gowda I, the founder of Bangalore.

Kempegowda International Airport is a modern and efficient airport with a capacity to handle over 40 million passengers per year. It has two terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, which are connected by a shuttle bus. The airport also has a cargo terminal and a runway that is 3,800 meters long.
