Sri Jagadguru colloege of law was the first ever private law college established in Bangalore.It was established under the aegis of the Mysore University in the year 1963.It was founded by the eminent legal educationalist Prof.P.Shivashankar.

the college initially offered a 3 year LL.B. degree,however,in 1999 the college introduced the 5 year B.A, LL.B degree. After the exclusive law university,Karnataka State Law University came in to existense SJR college of law is affiliated with it.We are also recognized by the Bar Council of India,in the acaedmic year 1999-2000
