Bombay Panjrapole

Cows here from all over the city, taken in and cared for if the owners can't be found. Animals are kept well and treated very well with hospital sections for the ill and a birthing section too. Amazing to see so many animals in one place and lovely to see the care shown. Be warned this place is hidden in a warren of streets that fortunately for us our guide navigated with no problem. Perhaps a little off the usual tourist track for sights but very much worth a visit

The doctrinale rationale for exposure is to avoid contact with earth or fire, both of which are considered sacred.

The sun-set view from the garden over the Arabian Sea is quite mesmerizing. One can get a good panoramic view of the Marine Drive and the Chowpatty beach from the Hanging Garden.
