Chotta Shimla
This small town has some old buildings dating from the pre-independence era. The police station near the Sadbhavna chowk is housed in a heritage building. The Springfields Heritage hotel building was built by an aristocrat from Lahore, and some of the family still live near the hotel. The Flowerdale road to dhobi-ghat is a scenic 20-minute walk that runs parallel to a stream. Kalij pheasants, several other species of himalayan birds and Rhesus macaques are found in the jungle in this area. The best time to go bird watching is at 6 A.M. in the mornings and about 4 P.M. in the evening.
National Highway 22
National Highway 22 (NH 22) is a 459 km (285 mi) National Highway in Northern India that runs from Ambala through Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh up to Khab on the Chinese border. It is also known as Hindustan Tibet road. Starting in Ambala, in northern Haryana as an offshoot of NH 1, the NH 22 runs north towards Zirakpur, outside Chandigarh. This first 40 km stretch, running partly through eastern Punjab, is named as the Ambala Chandigarh Expressway, and is a modern and well-maintained four lane section with several bridges and three major flyovers.
Shimla
Shimla derives its name from Shyamala Devi, an incarnation of the goddess Kali, whose temple existed in the dense forest covering the Jakhu Hill in the early 19th century. Shimla is the capital of Himachal Pradesh and was also the summer capital in pre-Independence India. Covering an area of 25 sq km at a height of 7,238 ft, Shimla is surrounded by pine, deodar and oak forests. Its well developed amenities, easy reach and various tourist attractions make it one of India’s most popular hill stations. Railway Station Road
Shoghi Railway station road is located on the Kalka Shimla heritage narrow gauge railway track of the Indian Railways. This station comes after the Kethlighat railway station while travelling from Kalka ( five kilometers). The next station towards Shimla is the Tara Devi railway station at a distance of seven kilometers. Shimla railway station is 18 kilometers from this place and the train takes more than an hour to reach there.
