Curiouscity Science Education Pvt Ltd, was started as a social enterprise in 2009 by Dr. Shonali Chinniah and team. Their aim is to bring science to life with children where the key to learning is an enquiry-based approach where kids explore concepts of science and ask questions as they go.

Over the years we have developed many models of discovering science with children, from 2 hour science workshops, to weekend field trips; themed based science fairs, to the history of science (flight, electricity etc) summer camps. We’ve also conducted many teacher training programs at schools.

During the pandemic between 2019 and 2022, Dr. Shonali Chinniah (a marine ecologist with a Ph.d from Cornell University) and Anil Chinniah (an Engineer with a MS from University of Massachusettes, Amherst and an MBA from Drexel University, Philadelphia), have put their energy into building a Science Discovery Centre where kids and families can come and explore science in an hands-on, interactive and safe space.

Weekdays are dedicated to doing science programs with schools and the centre is open to the general public on weekends and public holidays. The aim is to make this centre accessible to children from all socio-economic backgrounds, where we will charge schools that can afford it and do sponsored programs for low-income schools. We hope to inspire tomorrow’s innovators by sparking their curiousity today.
